Park City, Utah — Today, Sundance announced their listing of upcoming events at the New Frontier on Main venue. Part of the New Frontier program which showcases experimental films and video art, this year’s program brings a variety of multimedia installations, media-based performances and panel discussions to Main street. Park City, Utah — Bringing in more than 2,000 submissions from over 40 countries, Slamdance selected 67 shorts films to make up this years’ short film program. The program which is made up of five competition categories (Narrative Shorts, Gallery Shorts, Documentary Shorts, Polish Shorts and Animation Shorts), will also have two out of competition sections: Finalists from their online Anarchy Competition sponsored by OurStage and $99 Specials (where Slamdance gave $99 to filmmakers to create a 5 min or under short).

Park City, Utah — Up 15% over last year, Sundance’s short film submissions reached 5,107 entries from 17 countries. This year Sundance is also breaking new ground with partnerships with Apple iTunes, Xbox Live and Netflix, to enable viewers to purchase and download the shorts (for $1.99) to watch on a device of their choosing. And with over 80 shorts at the festival this year, there will be plenty to choose from!

Park City, Utah — The 14th annual Slamdance Film Festival, known for their focus on first-time filmmakers working with limited budgets, released their 2008 line up today. Alongside their twenty-nine selected features, Slamdance will also continue their helpful program of fireside chats and other events to support the independent film community.
